The month of March marks the International Women’s Month and the theme for this year was Inspire Inclusion. Joina City had several activities lined up in celebration of women’s month which included social media inspirational quotes and a video to encourage women. The celebrations culminated with a Women’s Empowerment Exchange program which aimed to inspire, Inform, and connect women from diverse backgrounds and sectors within the Joina City Community.
The empowerment exchange program featured keynote speakers who shared on different topics to educate as well as inspire the professional and business women at Joina City. The speakers included Mrs Sharon Bwanya, the Group General Counsel for Masawara Group, Mrs Mavu the General Manager of Cancer Association and Ms Sekayi Muvembi the Head of Security & Governance at Ecocash.

Ms Sekayi Muvembi shared on the important subject of cyber security and how to be safe when using the internet. She also touched on protecting children from accessing unsafe sights on the internet and guidelines that parents can take to protect their children. You can listen to the presentation below:
Mrs Sharon Bwanya took the audience through basic law information that women must be well informed on from household level when dealing with house helpers, women cash cooperative groups and the importance of wills.
