We are delighted to have hosted the 5th edition of the Minerva Zimbabwe Open Chess Championship, held from August 20 to 24, 2025, at Joina City in Harare. The tournament brought together top players from Zimbabwe and the Southern African Development Community (Sadc) region, showcasing a diverse and talented field of competitors.
The main events, including the Open, Ladies, and Corporate sections, took place at Joina City, while the development section for under-16 players was held at Dominican Convent School. This annual tournament not only provides a platform for individual skill but also elevates Zimbabwe’s standing within the global chess community.
